Travel writer story: a slim strip of rates and weather
Amity writes itineraries for clients. Every doc opens with the two numbers travelers actually ask about — the exchange rate and this week's weather — cropped live from two public pages.
An itinerary goes stale in two places first: the exchange rate line and the weather line. Amity used to rewrite both by hand the morning she sent each doc.
What she crops
Two tiny crops: a 220×70 rate box from a public converter, and a 260×90 five-day forecast from the city's weather page. Each becomes its own widget.
How it sits in her notes
- Both widgets embed side by side in the header area of her Craft doc, above the day-by-day plan.
- Fit
contain, so the strip scales down gracefully when a client reads on a phone. - Refresh every 3 hours. The doc she sent last month still shows today's rate when reopened.
